Hall of Fame
While at Seton Hill, Wilks excelled on the track and in the classroom. He was a three time All American on the track and a two time first team CoSIDA Academic All American. He is also the only Seton Hill student athlete to earn the NCAA's Elite 88 Award, which is presented to the student athlete at each final site for all 88 NCAA Championships with the highest overall GPA.
Joshua qualified five times for nationals and was 5th as a junior in the 800 meter run at Indoor Nationals, 7th as a senior in indoor nationals and 8th as a junior at outdoor nationals. Wilks was a six time WVIAC Champion and he was also named the 2008 WVIAC Rookie of the Year and the 2011 WVIAC Runner of the Year. Wilks still holds the SHU Indoor record for the 400 and 800 meter run along with the outdoor record for the 200 and 800 meter run.
After graduation, Joshua took a job in the Virginia Beach City Public Schools where he is an eighth grade math teacher at Great Neck Middle School. As the boys track and field coach, Wilks led the team to two city championships and was a two time middle school coach of the year. He finished his degree in Educational Leadership in December of 2015 and now has his Administrative Certification. Joshua met his wife Jennifer at Great Neck Middle School and they were married his past April.
