James Delaney was one of the most successful members of the Seton Hill men's lacrosse program and one of the building blocks that helped to build the program into what it is today.Â

Delaney was named the Lt. J.G. Donald MacLaughlin Jr. Award winner as the top midfielder in Division II in 2012 and 2013. He was also a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American first team selection in 2012 and 2013. During the 2011 campaign he was named to the USILA All-American Honorable Mention team. Delaney was also named to the All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) First Team in 2013. He was also a two time ECC All League selection.

Delaney helped the Griffins to their first ever NCAA postseason berth in 2013. He finished his career with 123 goals and 87 assists. He set a new SHU single season record in 2012 with 47 goals and 33 assists. Delaney was drafted by the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League and spent time on the roster of the Ohio Machine of Major League Lacrosse. He is currently the head coach of the University of Indianapolis women's lacrosse program.
