Tampa Bay Storm Acquires Wide Receiver Sammy Tranks

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Storm acquired wide receiver Sammy Tranks, announced vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.
 
"Samuel played last season in the Canadian Football League with the champion Toronto Argonauts," said Gooch.  "He brings a winning attitude and we believe that he will help bolster our receiving corps. and special teams."
 
Tranks (6-foot, 185 lbs., Seton Hill) enters his first season in the Arena Football League with the Tampa Bay Storm.  He spent the 2011 and 2012 seasons in the CFL, playing on a Toronto Argonaut team that would go on to win the 100th Grey Cup Championship.  In two seasons he reeled in 10 receptions for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns.
 
Prior to turning pro, Tranks played four seasons at Seton Hill University (PA).  The Philadelphia, PA native played in 43 games for the Griffins, hauling in 136 passes for 1,896 yards and 18 touchdowns.  Tranks also played a vital role on special teams as the Griffins's kick return specialist with 124 kick returns for 2,752 yards and two touchdowns.  He finished his collegiate career as the team's leader in kick returns (124) and punt returns (55).
