Craggette Scores Three Times as Griffins Win on Homecoming

Seton Hill hosted Gannon on Saturday afternoon in Greensburg as the school celebrated homecoming this weekend.

Ky'Ron Craggette made it a weekend to remember as he scored three times in the Griffins 28-14 victory over the Golden Knights.  SHU is now 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the west.  Gannon falls to 1-6 overall and 1-2 in the PSAC.

Gannon took a 7-0 lead over the Griffins on their second possession with a one yard touchdown run to take a 7-0 lead with 5:30 left in the first quarter.  Gannon carried that 7-0 lead into the second quarter of action.

On the first Gannon possession of the second quarter, the Griffins got a sack from Thomas Johnson on fourth down to force a turnover on downs and give SHU the ball at their own 37 yard line.  Ky'Ron Craggette then took the next handoff and raced 63 yards for a touchdown to tie the score at seven with 7:31 left in the half.  After a Griffin interception set up Gannon at the Griffin 15 yard line, the Goldem Knights made quick work of the short field to take a 14-7 lead with 2:24 left.  Boden St Marie then connected with Craggette on a 12 yard touchdown pass to tie the score at 14 at the halftime break.

Late in the third quarter, Craggette raced 61 yards for his second rushing touchdown of the game as the Griffins took their first lead of the contest at 21-14 with 2:06 left in the third.

The Griffins then marched 57 yards in 13 plays that took 8:10 off the fourth quarter clock to extend their lead to 28-14.  St Marie scored from two yards out with 6:44 left as the Griffins extended their lead.  The Griffin defense was then able to close out the game with two stops, the final one with 1:42 left in the contest as SHU was able to take three knees and run out the clock.

SHU finished the game rushing for 275 yards.  SHU also sacked the Gannon quarterback seven times in the contest.

Craggette finished with 209 yards rushing and two touchdowns.  Ritchie McCormack led the defense with 11 tackles.  Thomas Johnson added nine.  D'Kairi Boone made three sacks and eight total tackles.  Johnson added two sacks.

SHU will continue PSAC West play next weekend at Clarion.
