Three members of the Seton Hill baseball team have been named to the 2014 Jaeger Sports Tino Martinez Watch List. They include junior infielder
Nick Sell, senior pitcher
Alex Haines and senior infielder
Brendan Costantino. All three were also named to the watch list last season with Sell being named a finalist and finishing fourth in the final voting. All three were also named to the NCBWA Preseason All Atlantic Region Team with Sell being named to the NCBWA Preseason All American team.
Sell was also named to the USA Baseball's 60-man Preseason Golden Spikes Award Watch List. Nick was named a three time All American last season. He earned first team honors from the ABCA and NCBWA and was a second team selection by Daktronics. Sell was named a first team All Atlantic Region selection by Daktronics, the NCBWA and the ABCA. Sell was also named the NCBWA Atlantic Region Player of the Year. Nick was the WVIAC Hitter and Player of the Year as well as being a first team All WVIAC selection. Sell was one of the top hitters in Division II with a .431 average. He had 85 hits, 31 of which have went for extra bases. Sell drove in 57 runs and crossed home 65 times. He boasted a .731 slugging percentage and a .521 on-base percentage. Sell topped the team in batting average, on-base percentage, hits, walks, slugging percentage and runs scored.
Last year Haines notched an 8-2 mark while throwing four complete games. Haines was in on two shutouts while tossing 76.2 innings on the season. Opponents batted just .232 off Haines. He struck out 91 batters while holding a 2.35 ERA. He earned second team All Atlantic Region honors from the NCBWA, ABCA and Daktronics. Haines was a first team All WVIAC selection and was named the WVIAC Pitcher of the Year.
Constantino was the team's fifh leading hitter at .358. He also added 14 doubles, 2 triples, 5 homers and 33 RBI. Brendan also tied for the WVIAC in stolen bases with 35. Costantino was named to the ABCA, NCBWA and Daktronics All Region teams as well as being a first team All WVIAC selection.
One hundred twenty-five exceptional student-athletes comprise the watch list for the 2014 Jaeger Sports Tino Martinez Award for the most outstanding player in DII college baseball. The annual honor is named after the former University of Tampa Spartan, Olympian and MLB All-Star, Tino Martinez.
Nominations for the award were made by baseball sports information contacts and media members. Omission from the initial list does not exclude additional players from future consideration.
The list will be updated with a mid-season release mid April. Semi-finalists are scheduled to be announced on May 12th with the finalists to be named on May 26th.
After the finalists are named fans will be once again be invited to vote online at tinoaward.com to help determine the winner. The winner will be announced after the conclusion of the DII Baseball Championship held in Cary, NC from May 24th to May 31st.

Last year, Harmen Sidhu, a senior pitcher for the Sonoma State Seawolves, won the award. Sidhu's 0.98 ERA was tops in the nation and he tied for twelfth in wins as he went 10-1 in a dozen starts. Sidhu only allowed 47 hits in 82.2 innings, which amounted to a paltry .165 batting average against him. He also fanned 93 batters for a ratio of 10.13 per nine innings which placed in twenty-third nationally.
