For the first time this season, the Seton Hill baseball program has swept the weekly PSAC West Awards. This week's winners are senior outfielder
Jack Whalen who was named the Athlete of the Week and junior
Zach Herb who was named the Pitcher of the Week.
The duo earned the award for their performances as the Griffins went 5-0 last week including a four game PSAC West sweep of IUP.
Whalen led the Griffins to a 5-0 week including wins over Shippensburg and a four game sweep of IUP. Whalen was 12-20 (.600) with 6 runs scored, 2 doubles, a triple, 2 homers and 10 RBI. Jack was 3-3 in stolen bases and 13-13 in chances in the outfield. He was 4-5 in the final game at IUP with 3 runs scored, 2 homers and 7 RBI.
Herb recorded a pair of saves in the Griffins four game sweep of IUP. He worked 4 total innings, allowing just 1 hit and no runs while striking out 5. Herb earned a save in both game 1s of the two doubleheaders.
SHU is set to travel to Shippensburg before a four game PSAC West set with Lock Haven this weekend.
