GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Seton Hill University wrestling team honored six senior Griffins prior to Saturday evening's 30-13 home victory of Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action.

The Griffins scored on one pin, four decisions, and two forfeits to score points in seven out of the 10 matches to move to 7-6 on the season and 2-4 in the PSAC. Shippensurg slips to 10-11 overall and 1-4 in conference action.

Prior to the start of the match, seniors Ty Lydic, Collin Dees, Tanner Druck, Morris Lawson, Anthony Mastrangelo, and Cooper Deller were celebrated for their accomplishments and contributions to the program.

On the mat, Seton Hill grabbed the early 6-0 lead when Alan Diltz pinned Shippensurg's David Reagan at 2:44 in the 125lb weight class. After Cole Rush defeated Tyler Kenney at 133lb, Austin Shaw earned a 7-5 decision over Karl Lightner to give Seton Hill a 9-3 lead. Shippensburg's Mike Springer picked up six points due to a forfeit at 149lb to knot things up at 9-9.

SHU would go on to earn points in their next five bouts. Zach Voytek and Tanner Druck notched 4-1 decision wins at 157lb and 165 followed by a Zach Mattucci forfeit win at 174 to make it 21-9 in favor of the Griffins. At 184lb, Billy Bowlen earned a 5-1 decision over Hunter Fenk, and Morris Lawson got the forfeit win at 197. In the 285lb weight class, Dereck Berberick scored a major decision, 8-0, victory over SHU's Lou Maser.

Seton Hill will step out of conference play for their final two regular season matches. First, the Griffins will travel Waynesburg, PA. to take on Waynesburg University on February 1st followed by a date with Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, WV on February 10th. Both matches are scheduled for 7:00 PM starts.
