GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Seton Hill University wrestling team led Mercyhurst throughout most of the dual meet, but the PSAC-leading Lakers' took the last three victories and the final bout of the night by fall to give Mercyhurst a 22-21 win over the Griffins in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action Saturday evening.

Seton Hill falls to 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the PSAC. Mercyhurst is 2-0 and 2-0 in the conference. 

The dual started with Mercyhurst's Willie Bohince scoring a 9-0 major decision over SHU's Alan Diltz in the 125lb weight class. However, SHU would go on to win the next four bouts to take a commanding 15-4 lead.

The run started with Tyler Kenney's 8-4 decision over Mercyhurst's Jeff Sisk at 133. Joey Alessandro then followed with a tech fall, 20-1 win at 6:18 over Joel Bowers at 141. At 149, Ty Lydic then scored a 16-3, major decision over Branden Flinn. Zach Voytek then defeated Cole Gavin, 8-5, in the 157 class.

After Mercyhurst's Franci Mizia defeated Damon Greenwald via a 15-0 tech fall at 4:41 in the 165 class, Zach Mattucci would pin Kevin Holan at 2:23 in the 174 class to give SHU a 21-9 advantage. Mercyhurst would wittle away at that lead starting at 184 when Mike Green scored the 12-3 major decision over Billy Bowlen, followed by Jamar Henry's 7-3 win over Jacob Temple at 197. Then, in the 285 bout, Andy Welton gave Mercyhurst the overall win when he pinned SHU's Lou Maser at 1:41.

Seton Hill will travel to Johnstown, Pa. to take on the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown on Wednesday, January 18th before heading to Kutztown, Pa. to take part in the Kutztown Duals. Visit HERE for the complete schedule.
