KUTZTOWN, PA. - The Seton Hill University wrestling team completed come-from-behind victories against East Stroudsburg and #10 UNC Pembroke, and overwhelmed Queens (NC) on Friday to finish 3-0 at the 2019 Kutztown Duals hosted by Kutztown University.
// SHU VS. EAST STROUDSBURG: HOW IT HAPPENED
• Brady Sherback picked up a forfeit win at 125lbs as SHU took a 6-0 lead. However, a tech fall and a major decision win at 133lbs and 141lbs put ESU ahead 9-6. Austin Shaw then picked up six points at 149lbs as ESU's Pierre Liciaga was disqualified. East Stroudsburg went on to win the 157lbs, 165lbs, and 174lbs bouts to make it 20-12 in favor of the Warriors. Sean Hoover's 4-2 win over Ronnie Simmons J. at 184lbs got the rally started for Seton Hill as the Griffins cut the deficit to 20-15. Jake Shaffer then picked up a crucial 12-3 major decision win over Nick Klinoff to come to within just one point, 20-19. Finally, Jake Beistel pinned Cameron Kates at 1:07 in the heavyweight division to put Seton Hill over the top, 25-20.

• UNC Pembroke broke out to a 15-0 lead with pins in the 125lbs and 133lbs bouts followed by a win in the 141lbs bout. Seton Hill finally got on the scoreboard when
Austin Shaw pinned Kaleb Warner at 5:25 in the 157lb bout to make it 15-6. After another UNC Pembroke with in the 157lbs bout, Seton Hill would go 4-0 the rest of the way. Wins by Luke Eewing and
Damon Greenwald at 165lbs and 174lbs made it 18-12.
Sean Hoover then pinned Hunter Strickland at 1:34 in the 184lb bout to even the score at 18-18.
Jake Shaffer's 10-4 win over Marcus Montgomery gave Seton Hill their first lead of the match, 21-18, and
Jake Beistel followed up with his second pin of the day when he pinned Marcus Bell at 6:17 in the heavyweight bout as Seton Hill defeated #10 UNC Pembroke, 27-18.

The match was originally billed for Saturday was rescheduled for 9:00 p.m. on Friday due to the incoming winter storm.
