Season Ends with PSAC Quarterfinal Loss at Edinboro

The Griffin women's basketball team made the trip to Edinboro, PA for the first round of the PSAC Tournament looking for their first PSAC Tournament win in school history.  SHU was not able to get that first win as Edinboro pulled away in the second and third quarters for an 82-50 victory.  SHU finishes the season with a 16-13 record. 
 
Seton Hill was able to jump out to a 10-9 lead at the first media timeout.  Lindsey Mifsud came out of the gates hot hitting two threes and Jenna Kaufman added four points for the Griffins.  Edinboro was able to go on a little run and take a 21-18 lead at the end of the first quarter.  Chrisanna Green added 4 points in the quarter. 
 
The Scots scored the first five points of the second quarter, forcing coach Katarski to call a quick timeout less than a minute into the quarter.  Edinboro continued the run, taking a 33-19 lead midway thru the quarter.  Kinross Obiefule ended the with a basket and Green followed with a bucket.  A jumper from Alexandria Deep cut the lead to 33-25 with three minutes left in the half.  Edinboro scored the final four points of the half to take a 37-25 lead into the halftime break.
 
One of the big differences in the half was rebounding, with the Scots grabbing 28 total rebounds, including 16 offensive ones.
 
SHU cut the lead to 39-29 early in the second half but the Scots used a four point play on a free throw, offensive rebound and three pointer to push the lead to 43-29 with 6:01 to play in the half.   The Scots extended their lead to 52-29 with 2:55 to play.  SHU got four straight from Deep and Green to cut the lead to 52-33 but the Scots took a 62-36 lead into the fourth quarter. 
 
The Scots were able to push their lead to 29 points at 73-44 at the final media timeout of the contest. 
 
Jenna Kaufman and Chrisanna Green each led the Griffins with 10 points each. Lindsey Mifsud added 9 points and Alexandria Deep finished with 7 points.
