Box Score Seton Hill reached the 30 win plateau for the eighth straight season after a 7-3 victory over Point Park on Wednesday afternoon. SHU is now 30-11 on the season.
The Griffins took a 1-0 lead in the second inning.
Chris Miller was hit by a pitch leading off the inning. He moved to second on a balk and scored when
Tyler Sullivan singled to center field. SHU increased their lead to 4-0 in the third inning.
Sam Mattei was hit by a pitch and moved to second when
Anthony Fanelli reached on an error.
Zac Heide followed with his 10th homer of the season. Point Park got one of those runs back in the bottom of the inning. The Pioneers cut the Griffins lead to 4-2 with another single run in the fourth inning.
SHU added another run in the sixth inning. Miller doubled with two outs and moved to third on a single by
Mark Colella. Sullivan picked up his second RBI of the game with a single. The Griffins added two more insurance runs in the ninth inning on RBI hits by Fanelli and Heide.
Zach Martinelli earned the win with 2.1 scoreless innings of relief. He didnt give up a hit and walked one. Heide, Miller and Sullivan each had two hits in the win.
Seton Hill returns to PSAC West play on Friday when they host Slippery Rock.
