Seton Hill completed their three game set with Coker with a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. Seton Hill took the first game with a 7-0 shutout win from
Mike Bittel. The Griffins then completed the sweep with a walkoff 6-4 win in game two. SHU is now 11-4 on the season.
The Griffins took a 3-0 lead in the first inning of game one.
Garret Vrbanic and
Tyler Sullivan each singled and scored on a three run homer by
Chris Miller. SHU added on with four more in the third inning. After an out
Anthony Fanelli singled. He scored when
Matt Malacane singled.
Colton Carney followed with an RBI double and
Thayne Mitrik doubled to drive in two and give SHU a 7-0 lead.
Mike Bittel earned the win with a complete game shutout. He allowed 6 hits and struck out 8.
Matt Malacane had two hits.
Coker took a 2-0 lead with two runs on three hits in the top of the first inning of game two. The Griffins tied the score at two with two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Mark Colella drove in a run with a ground rule double and
Sam Vilk tied the game with an RBI groundout.
The Cobras retook the lead with two runs in the top of the fifth inning. Vrbanic led off the fifth with a double and scored on a double by Fanelli. Miller walked and Heide drew a walk to load the bases. Malacane tied the score with a single.
SHU then won the game in the bottom of the seventh. With one out Miller doubled with
Aaron Previsky pinch running at second base. One batter later, Heide hit a 3-2 pitch over the left field fence to walk off the Cobras 6-4.
Zac Heide led the offense with a 3-3 day.
Chris Miller also had 3 hits.
Anthony Fanelli finished with 2 hits.
Kevin Neumann earned the win with two scoreless innings of relief.
SHU will return to action on Wednesday with a non conference matchup at West Liberty.
