Seton Hill made the short trip down Route 70 on Thursday evening to Washington, PA for a dual match with Washington & Jefferson. The Griffins won seven of the nine contested matches, including four by major decision for a 25-8 victory. SHU improves to 6-3 in dual matches.
There was no match contested at 125 pounds.
Collin Dees moved up a weight class and picked up a 12-9 decision victory at 133 pounds to give SHU an early 3-0 lead. SHU then followed with four straight major decision victories.
Joseph Alessandro earned an 18-5 major decision victory at 141 pounds.
Ty Lydic contined his stellar season with a 15-3 major decision win at 149 pounds to extend the SHU lead to 11-0 after three matches.
Tanner Druck followed Lydic with a 9-1 major decision win at 157 pounds.
Andrew Doak closed out the streak of Griffin wins with a 13-3 major decision win at 165 pounds which gave the Griffins a 19-0 lead. W&J then won the next two matches to take cut into the Griffins lead. Jake Temple got the Griffins back in the winning ways with a 10-3 decision victory at 197 pounds that pushed the lead to 22-8.
Alex Soutiere closed the match with a 7-2 victory at 285 pounds.
The Griffins return to the mats on Saturday evening when they host East Stroudsburg at 7 PM in the McKenna Center.
