The Griffin track and field teams competed in the Slippery Rock Open on Thursday afternoon before their Easter Break and put in some good performances.
 
On the women's side, Alesha Herman finished 3rd overall in 200m dash in a time of 26.65.  Chelsia Poole finished first in 1500m run (5:01.63) and 3rd in 800m run (2:24.43).  Megan Weinreber was 8th in 800m run (2:30.85).  Sarah Taylor (18:54.61) and Alyssa Brandis (18:58.35) were 3-4 in the 5000m race.  Jenna Bracken finished first in the 100m hurdles, running a PSAC leading time of 14.62.  She was also 7th in the 200m dash (27.76).  Angela McCowin was 8th in 100m hurdles (15.65).  Nicole Malara was 2nd in High jump (1.50m) and 6th in the long jump (5.09m).  Alex Deep finished 6th in the triple jump, jumping 9.83m. 
 
Victoria Miller had a great day with three top 3 finishes.  She was 1^st in the discus with a PSAC qualifying mark of 38.72m.  She also hit a PSAC qualifying mark in the shot put (11.57m).  Victoria capped off her day with a new SHU record and NCAA provisional mark in the hammer (51.79m).  Martina Milcic hit a PSAC qualifying mark in the shot (11.52m), finishing fifth and was third in the hammer with a career best throw of 45.62m. Kayla Percic was 8th in discus (31.69m).  Angela McCarthy finished 5th in the Hammer throw (37.70m).  Mallory Sanner was 2nd in the Javelin (44.67m), which is currently the eighth best throw in Division II.  Jessica Slagus was third in the javelin with a career best throw of 39.80. 
 
On the men's side, Anthony Peluso had two top six finishes.  He was third in the 400m run (52.07) and sixth in the 200m dash (23.67).  Anthony Camasso finished 6th in the steeple chase in a career best time of 10:41.26.  Algeron Johnson was 4th in the long jump (6.36m).  Delorian Day hit a PSAC qualifying mark and was first in the triple jump (13.70m).   Austin Sheridan also hit a PSAC mark and was 3rd in the discus (41.01m).   Ian Fleming was 6th in the Discus (36.01m). 
 
The Griffins will compete in the Bucknell University Meet next weekend.
