The Griffin track and field teams took part in the Dave Labor Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock University on Saturday afternoon.
The women's team was led by
Chelsia Poole who finished in 1st place in the 3000m steeple chase, running a new SHU school record time and NCAA provisional qualifying time of 11:07.25. She also finished 2nd in 800m dash, running 2:20.65.
Jackie Kleinschrodt also had a 1st place in 3000m run with time of 11:26.99.
Meagen Carter was 1st in the 5000m run in a PSAC qualifying time of 18:05.57.
Victoria Miller had a great day with three top three finishes. She was in 1st place in discus (38.84m), 2nd place in the shot put (12.39m), and 3rd place in the hammer throw (47.42m).
Alesha Herman was 7th in 100m dash, running a season best time of 12.60. Herman was also 6th in the long jump (5.25m).
Emily Dempsey finished in 8th place in 800m run in a career best time of 2:25.91.
Sarah Taylor finished in 5th place in 5000m run.
Angela McCowin had a 4th place finish in the 100m hurdles (14.98), a personal best time.
Martina Milcic finished 4th in the hammer throw with a personal best mark of 45.70m and was 8th in the shot put (11.71m).
Angela McCarthy was in 6th place hammer throw, throwing 41.45m, a psac qualifying mark and a personal best.
Mallory Sanner improved her NCAA mark with a 2nd place finish in the javelin, throwing a season best and NCAA sixth best throw of 48.34m.
Jessica Slagus finished in 4th place with a throw of 40.98m in the javelin, a NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
On the men's side, SHU finished with four in the top 8 of the 800m run.
Santo Belle was third in a time of 1:59.19.
Riley Giaquinto was 5th (2:00.16),
Carl Koehler was 7th (2:00.44) and
Micah Cantaral was 8th (2:00.63).
Anthony Peluso was in 8th place in the 400m dash in a personal best time of 50.59. Stephen Lafferty finished in 7th place in the 5000m run (16:42.57).
Delorian Day finished in 6th place in the 110m hurdles (15.65) and was in 8th place in the high jump.
Peter Swain was in 6th place in the steeple chase while
Anthony Camasso was eighth.
Derek DiAngelis finished in 6th place in the pole vault (4.41m).
SHU will take place in the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg University next weekend.
