Box Score 2 Seton Hill hosted Slippery Rock to open their PSAC West series on Saturday afternoon after being postponed on Friday at Slippery Rock. SHU took game one by an 11-4 score. The Griffins tied a school record with their 19
th straight win with an unreal 13-12, come from behind win. SHU is now 30-4 overall and 17-1 in PSAC West play.
The Griffins jumped on starter Ryan Oglesby for four runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Pat McCarthy led off with a single and
Garret Vrbanic was hit by a pitch.
Nick Sell then singled in McCarthy.
Chris Miller added an RBI double and
Logan Urtz increased the lead to 4-0 on a two run bomb to left field. The Griffins added 4 more runs in the bottom of the second. SHU scored their first run on a passed ball. Vrbanic then doubled in a run to make it 6-0.
Nick Sell followed with a two run bomb to left center to give the Griffins an 8-0 lead. Slippery Rock hit a solo homer in the top of the fifth for their first run. Back to back singles from Sell and Miller were followed by a three run shot to left center from
Cody Herald to give the Griffins an 11-1 lead. The Rock hit a two run homer in the top of the sixth.
Mike Bittel went the distance to earn his sixth win. He gave up 7 hits and struck out 4.
Nick Sell was 3-4 with 3 RBI.

Slippery Rock took a 2-0 lead with a two run homer in the top of the first inning of game two. The Griffins answered right back with two in their half of the inning. After two outs,
Nick Sell drew a walk. He scored on a double from
Chris Miller. Miller then scored on a basehit from
Cody Herald. Slippery Rock retook the lead after a two out double in the top of the fourth inning. The Rock added three more runs in the fifth on five hits to push their lead to 6-2. SHU got a run back in the fifth. Sell doubled after an out and moved to third on a passed ball. He scored on a sac fly from Miller. Slippery Rock added 4 more runs (3 unearned) in the sixth to take a 10-3 lead.
Seton Hill took the lead with 8 unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth. After an out,
Matt Malacane singled.
Zac Heide reached on a error and after an out,
Pat McCarthy reached on an error to score Malacane.
Garret Vrbanic singled to score Heide. Sell then hit a three run homer to center field to trim the lead to 10-8. Miller followed with another bomb to center.
Logan Urtz walked and scored when Herald hit a two run homer to center to give SHU an 11-10 lead. The Rock scored twice in the seventh to retake a 12-11 lead. After two outs in the seventh, McCarthy singled and Vrbanic reached on an error. After a wild pitch, Sell ended the game with a double off the center field fence.
Nick Sell led the offense with a 3-3 performance with 5 RBI.

The Griffins return to action on Sunday when they travel to Slippery Rock to complete the four game set.
