The Griffin track and field teams competed at the University of Maryland Invitational this weekend. The women's team finished 4th out of 16 schools and the men's team finished 9th out of 16 schools.
On the women's side,
Alesha Herman was 4th in the100m dash (12.74) and 5th in the 200m dash (26.55).
Meagen Carter finished 8th in the 800m run (2:24.93) and was 5th in 3000m run (10:28.21).
Jenna Bracken was 4th in 100m hurdles (15.04).
Angela McCowin finished 4th in 400m hurdles (1:08.30).
Chelsia Poole was 2nd in 3000m Steeple Chase (11:40.52).
Nicole Malara finished 5th in High Jump while
Nichelle McMillan was 2nd in the Long Jump and 2nd in the Triple Jump.
Victoria Miller finished 5th in Hammer Throw (48.36m).
Mallory Sanner was 2nd in Javelin (41.27m), an NCAA Provisional throw and
Jessica Slagus was 6th in Javelin.
On the men's side,
Peter Swain finished 2nd in 3000m Steeple Chase.
Derek DiAngelis was 3rd in the Pole Vault.
Prince Antwi finished 3rd in the Hammer throw - 50.38m (165-03), setting a new SHU Record and PSAC Qualifying Mark.
The teams compete Thursday before Easter Break at Slippery Rock Open with events beginning at noon.
