Box Score 2 Seton Hill hosted Davis & Elkins in a non conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon. SHU took game one by the score of 6-3. The offense exploded for a 24-9 win in game two to complete the sweep. SHU is now 15-4 on the season.
Nick Sell broke the Seton Hill career home run record with his two home runs, giving him 37 on his career, breaking the mark held by Pat Trettel.
Davis & Elkins took a 2-0 lead with two runs in the top of the first inning. Back to back doubles from
Cody Herald and
Anthony Fanelli cut the D&E lead to 2-1 in the second and SHU tied the score with an unearned run in the second. Back to back triples with two outs from
Nick Sell and
Zac Heide gave the Griffins a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth. Herald's infield single scored Heide and
Sam Vilk knocked in Herald to increase the lead to 5-2. A balk pushed the lead to 6-2. D&E hit a solo homer in the top of the sixth.
Logan Urtz earned the win in relief of starter
Matt Ober. Ober gave up 2 runs in four innings while Urtz gave up 1 run in three innings.

SHU scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Pat McCarthy and
Garret Vrbanic were hit by a pitch and
Nick Sell followed with a line drive homer over the left field wall. The offense then exploded for 13 runs in the second inning on 5 homers.
Taylor Schmidt,
Cody Herald,
Chris Miller, McCarthy and Sell all homered in the inning. SHU added two more runs in the third to increase the lead to 18-0. SHU added three more runs in the fifth and sixth inning.
MP Buckey was 4-4 to lead the Griffin offense.
Nick Sell was 3-3 with 4 RBI.

Joe Shaffer threw a scoreless inning of relief to earn the win.
