Box Score 2 Seton Hill closed out its four game set with California by hosting the Vulcans in a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon. SHU rallied from a 4-0 deficit for a 5-4 win in game one. SHU completed the sweep with a 5-2 win in game two. SHU is now 13-4 overall and 3-1 in PSAC West play.
California scored single runs in the first four innings for 4-0 lead. Cal hit three solo homers. SHU tied the score with 4 runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Cody Herald delivered the Griffins first hit of the game.
Zac Heide then singled and both scored when
Matt Malacane drilled a homer over the left center field fence to cut the lead to 4-3.
Pat McCarthy then tripled and scored on a RBI ground out from
Garret Vrbanic. SHU took the lead in the sixth when
Chris Miller drew a one out walk.
Jesse Cooper ran for him and scored when Malacane knocked in his fourth run of the game.
Jordan Fuller earned the win, going 6 innings.
Perry DellaValle earned his third save of the year with a perfect seventh.
Matt Malacane was 2-3 with 4 RBI.
California took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning of game two with a solo homer. SHU tied the score at one in the bottom of the third.
Adam Ferita singled and moved to third on a
Pat McCarthy double. A sac fly from
Garret Vrbanic scored Ferita to tie the score at one. California got an unearned run in the top of the fourth to take a 2-1 lead. SHU got four straight hits to lead off the fourth but could only score 1 run to tie the score at 2.
Zac Heide hit a three run homer to deep left center field to give SHU a 5-2 win in the bottom of the fifth.
Kevin Neumann earned the win in relief of starter
Zach Martinelli.

Logan Urtz each had 2 hits. Heide drove in three.
SHU returns to action on Tuesday when they host Davis & Elkins in a doubleheader at 1 PM.
