Box Score Seton Hill returned home to host Pitt Johnstown on Saturday afternoon looking to end a five game losing streak. UPJ outscored the Griffins 37-30 in the second half in route to a 71-62 victory as the Griffins lost their sixth straight. SHU falls to 6-16 overall and 5-13 in PSAC play.
The first half was a back and forth affair with the game tied four times and the lead rotating back between the two teams.
Kameron Taylor put the Griffins up 2-0 before UPJ scored the next 5 to take a 5-2 lead. UPJ led 10-7 at the first media timeout of the half. Two jumpers from
Damjan Sredanovic and
David Windsor followed by a bucket from
Noah Davis gave SHU a 13-10 lead. UPJ then went on a 11-2 run to take a 21-15 lead with 6:23 to play in the half. A three pointer from Davis ended the run and SHU then tied the game at 24 on six straight points from Windsor. UPJ then hit a three and Windsor answered that with a three of his own to tie the score at 27. UPJ hit a three at the buzzer to take a 34-32 lead at the half.
UPJ built their lead to 42-34 four minutes into the half.
Zach Herman hit a three to cut the lead to 42-37. Over the next 10 minutes, the Mountain Cats were able to build their lead to 53-42 with just over seven minutes to play in the half. SHU was able to cut the lead to 8 on a dunk from
Nebojsa Stanojevic with 4:27 to play but could not get any closer as they would fall by a 71-62 margin.
David Windsor led the Griffins with a game high 24 points.
Noah Davis added 14 points.
Zach Herman finished with 8 points.
Spencer Casson added 6 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks.
SHU will look to end the six game winning streak next Saturday when they travel to Slippery Rock.
