Williams Last Second Basket Sends Griffins to PSAC FInal Four

Seton Hill made the trip to top seed from the East, Millersville on Wednesday evening for a PSAC Quarterfinal matchup.  

Rashaad Williams' last second layin gave the Griffins a 77-75 victory which sent the Griffins to their first ever PSAC FInal Four appearance.  SHU is now 18-12 on the season.  

SHU got off to a fast start as they took a 11-2 lead at the first media timeout of the contest.  Camden Brewer scored five and Dimitrios Sklavenitis added four in the run.  The lead remained in double figures and jumped to as many as 21 on a three from Williams that put the Griffins in front 38-17 with 6:09 to play in the first half.  SHU led 40-20 with five minutes to play.  Millersville cut the lead to 42-32 at the halftime break.  

Just over a minute into the second half, the Marauders cut the SHU lead to seven.  SHU responded with an 8-0 run to take a 52-37 lead with 15:27 to play in the contest.  A Camden Brewer three and two Williams free throws gave SHU a 57-42 lead with 13 minutes left.  Millersvlle responded with a 20-4 run as they took a 62-61 lead 7:39 left.  SHU was able to take a four point lead before the Marauders tied the score at 70 with 2:57 left.  Simos hit one of two free throws to give SHU a 71-70 lead with 1:25 left.  Millersville got a basket to take a 72-71 lead with a minute to go.  Brewer hit a corner three to put SHU back in front 74-72 with 36 seconds left.  Millersville then hit a three to take a 75-74 lead with 20 seconds left.  Brewer got an offensive rebound and was fouled with 3 seconds left.  He hit one of two before Williams steal of the inbounds pass and layup gave SHU the win.  

Brewer led SHU with 20 points.  Sklavenitis added a double double of 16 points and 11 rebounds.  Simos also added 16 points.  Williams finished with 12.

SHU will play CalU in the PSAC Final Four at Gannon on Saturday evening at 7:30 PM.
