Taylor's Jumper Sends Griffins to 63-62 Victory

Seton Hill traveled to California on Wednesday evening looking to end a six game losing streak.  Kameron Taylor hit a jumper from the baseline with 12 seconds to play to end the Griffins losing streak and give them a 63-62 victory.  SHU improves to 7-17 overall and 6-14 in PSAC play.
 
Cal took a 7-2 lead at the first media timeout of the half.  Damjan Sredanovic hit the first basket of the half but Cal scored the next 7 points.  Cal extended their lead to 12-2 before the Griffins answered with 6 of the next 8 points to cut the Cal lead to 14-8 at the under 12 media timeout.  David Windsor scored all 6 of the Griffins points.  Two Matt Kline free throws got the Griffins back to within four points at 17-13.  A jumper from Noah Davis cut the lead to 17-15 before the Vulcans scored 4 straight to take a 21-15 lead at the under 4 media timeout.  Nebojsa Stanojevic had back to back baskets as the Griffins entered the half trailing 24-21. 
 
Back to back three pointers from Kameron Taylor tied the score at 32 with 16:30 to play in the half.  Taylor's steal and layin gave the Griffins a 41-39 lead with 11:50 to play in second half.  California retook the lead 50-49 at the 8 minute media timeout.  A jumper from Taylor tied the score at 53 with 5:30 left in the half.  Taylor put the Griffins back in the lead, 57-55 with 2:45 to play in the half.  Cal answered with 5 straight to take a 60-57 lead with 1:36 remaining in regulation.  Tyler Bowling used a great post move to cut the lead to one and Taylor followed with a steal and layin to give SHU a 61-60 lead with 50 seconds left.  Cal hit two free throws to take a 62-61 lead with 25 seconds to play.  Taylor hit a jumper from the baseline to give SHU a 63-62 lead with 12 seconds left and the Griffins got a final defensive stop to seal the victory. 
 
Kameron Taylor led the Griffins with 22 points, all in the second half.  David Windsor added 12 points.  Tyler Bowling added 9 points off the bench.
 
The Griffins will close out their home schedule on Saturday when they host Mercyhurst for Senior Day.  Tip is scheduled for 3 PM.
