Griffins Drop Road Contest at Slippery Rock 70-51

The Griffin men returned to the court at Slippery Rock after their bye on Wednesday looking to end a six game losing streak.  Slippery Rock pulled away in the second half for a 70-51 victory.  SHU falls to 6-17 overall and 5-14 in PSAC play.
 
Slippery Rock jumped out to a 10-4 lead at the first media timeout.  David Windsor hit back to back buckets before the Rock answered with two threes to pus their lead back to 16-8 with 13:48 to play in the half.  Both teams scored two points and SRU led 18-10 at the under 12 media timeout.  SRU then scored 7 of the next 10 points to extend its lead to 25-13, forcing a SHU timeout with 8:53 to play in the half.  Five straight from Windsor cut the lead to 25-18 with 6:30 to play.  SRU took a 37-26 lead into the halftime break.  Windsor led SHU with 19 points.
 
The Rock came out of the halftime break and outscored the Griffins 13-5 to open a 50-31 advantage at the first media timeout of the half.  SHU outscored the Rock 4-2 over the next four minutes to cut the lead to 52-35 with 11:35 to play.  SRU pushed their lead back up to 18 points at the under 8 media timeout. 
 
David Windsor led the Griffins with 26 points.  Spencer Casson added 10 points.
 
SHU will look to end their losing streak on Wednesday when they travel to California for a 7:30 PM tip.
