On Saturday the women and men's track and field team competed at the Spire Institute in the North Coast Open. On the women's side for the day Toni Davision had a season best jump of 3.05m (10'-0") good for 6th overall on the day.
Martina Milcic took home a 5th place finish in the shot 11.53m(37'-10") and 8th place in the weight.
Nichelle McMillan finished 2nd overall in the triple jump 10.97m (36'-0"),
Mallory Trainer finished 7th in the triple jump on the day,
Angela McCowin took home a season best time of 9.37 in the 60m hurdles finishing 6th overall,
Meagen Carter hit a PSAC qualifying time in the mile finishing third at 5:17.48,
Alesha Herman placed 7th in the 200m running 26.39 and in the women's 5000m
Chelsia Poole hit the PSAC mark running a personal best 18:54.03 second overall,
Jackie Kleinschrodt ran a personal best time of 19:17.87 good for a 4th place finish,
Alyssa Brandis finished 6th overall and
Sarah Taylor took home a 7th place finish for the Griffins.
For the Griffin men
Derek DiAngelis placed 6th overall in the pole vault 4.25m (13'-111/4"),
Delorian Day took home a 2nd place finish in the 60m hurdles running a season best 8.56, a 7th place finish in the long jump and a 5th place finish hitting a PSAC qualifying mark in the triple jump.
Algeron Johnson took home a 5th place finish in the 60m hurdles,
Santo Belle placed 7th in the 800m running a PSAC qualifying and personal best indoor time of 1:58.44,
Micah Cantaral placed 8th in the 800m narrowly missing the PSAC mark with a time of 1:58.86. The men's 4x400m relay team of
Santo Belle,
Anthony Peluso,
Micah Cantaral and
Carl Koehler placed 8th on the day and Stephen Lafferty completed the day for the Griffins with a 2nd place finish and PSAC qualifying time in the 5000m running 15:37.91.
This Friday and Saturday the men and women will compete in the George Mason University Patriot Games with the men's heptathlon and women's pentathlon beginning Friday evening and the conclusion of the meet to begin Saturday at 10:00am.
