Box Score The Griffin baseball team hosted former WVIAC foe Alderson Broaddus in a single nine inning contest on Wednesday afternoon. Seton Hill scored eight times in the bottom of the sixth inning to blow open the ball game and cruised to a 13-1 victory. With the win, the Griffins improve to 26-9 overall and now have won 15 straight contests.
Seton Hill started the scoring in the bottom of the first when
Chris Miller singled in
Cody Herald to give the Griffins a 1-0 lead. In the second inning,
Taylor Schmidt and
Brendan Costantino executed a double steal to push the lead to 2-0. SHU picked up two more runs on RBI singles from Herald and Miller. Costantino singled home
Anthony Fanelli in the thrid to increase the Griffins lead to 5-0. The Griffins offense then exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the sixth. The first run scored when Schmidt scored on a wild pitch. The next four runs all scored on either bases loaded walks or hit by pitches. Costantino then doubled in two runs and
Dan Abbenante closed out the scoring with an RBI double. Alderson Broaddus scored their lone run in the top of the seventh.
Mike Bittel earned his fifth victory of the season by throwing a scoreless frame and striking out all three batters he faced.
Brendan Costantino led the Griffin offense with 3 hits.

Seton Hill will return to PSAC West action on Friday when they host Slippery Rock in a key conference matchup.
