Box Score 2 Seton Hill hosted Clarion in a PSAC West doubleheader on Sunday afternoon to close out their four game set. The games were supposed to be played at Clarion but were moved to Seton Hill because of poor field conditions with Clarion being the home team in both games. Seton Hill took game one by the score of 6-5. The Griffins ran their winning streak to 11 with a 12-1 victory in game two. Seton Hill is now 24-9 overall and 13-1 in PSAC West play.
SHU scored four runs in the top of the first.
Chris Miller drove in a run when he reached on an error.
Nick Sell then plated two more with a double.
Matt Malacane picked up an RBI groundout to give SHU the 4-0 lead. Clarion got two runs back in the bottom of the third.
Taylor Schmidt singled in a run for the Griffins in the top of fourth.
Brandon Jossey made it 6-2 with a solo shot to left center in the top of the fifth. Clarion got that run right back in the bottom of the fifth. The Golden Eagles then scored two unearned runs in the sixth to cut the lead to 6-5.
Brad Schnelle improved to 4-2. He went 6 innings, giving up two earned runs.
Jesse Cooper earned his 10
th save of the season with a scoreless seventh.
Ryan Hayden was the lone Griffin with two hits.
Cody Herald gave the Griffins a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning of game two with an RBI single. Herald then scored on a wild pitch to increase the lead to 2-0.
Nick Sell made it 3-0 with a solo homer to left in the top of the second. Herald tripled in the third and scored on a sac fly from
Chris Miller.
Jesse Cooper singled in two runs to increase the lead to 6-0 in the fourth.
Taylor Schmidt then added two more runs with a single. Clarion cut the lead to 8-1 in the bottom of the fourth. Herald hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth to increase the lead to 9-1.
Logan Urtz earned the win by going 6 strong innings.
Nick Sell led the Griffin offense going 3-4.

Seton Hill will host Point Park on Tuesday in a single nine inning contest.
