Seton Hill travelled to Johnstown, PA to take on Indiana (PA) in a PSAC West doubleheader. The games were moved from Indiana because of field conditions. SHU rallied from 3-0 down in the first game for a 4-3 win. Seton Hill shutout the Crimson Hawks in game two by the score of 2-0 to complete the sweep. Seton Hill is now 16-9 on the season and 5-1 in PSAC West play.
Indiana took a 3-0 lead with single runs in the first, second and fourth innings. SHU scored twice in the top of the fifth.
Anthony Fanelli and
Garret Vrbanic singled to open the inning. After two outs,
Brendan Costantino singled in both Fanelli and Vrbanic to cut the lead to 3-2. The Griffins took the lead in the sixth. After two outs, Fanelli was hit by a pitch and Vrbanic singled.
Chris Miller then reached on an error to load the bases.
Matt Malacane then gave the Griffins a 4-3 lead with a two RBI single.
Brett Sullivan earned his fifth win of the season. He went 5 innings and gave up all three runs on six hits while striking out three.
Jesse Cooper earned his sixth save with a scoreless seventh.
Anthony Fanelli and
Garret Vrbanic each had two hits.
Seton Hill took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning. With one out,
Anthony Fanelli walked.
Nick Sell and
Matt Malacane each singled to load the bases.
Chris Miller then hit a sacrifice fly to give SHU a 1-0 lead. Sell doubled and scored on a wild pitch in the top of the fourth to give the Griffins a 2-0 lead. That was all the run support winning pitcher
Mike Bittel would need. Bittel went 6 innings to earn his second win. He gave up just 3 hits and struck out 5.
Jesse Cooper earned his seventh save with another scoreless seventh. Sell and Malacane each had two hits.
Seton Hill will host Indiana on Sunday to complete the four game set.
