Box Score The field hockey team opened the last week of their season with a trip to Mansfield on Wednesday afternoon. Mansfield scored twice in the first half and held on for a 2-1 victory. With the loss, the Griffins fall to 0-15 overall and 0-13 in PSAC play.
Mansfield took a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 7th minute of the contest. The Mounties extended their lead to 2-0 with a goal with just over 8 minutes to play in the first half. Seton Hill cut the lead to 2-1 on a goal from
Brittany Davis with just over 7 minutes left in the second half. Davis pounced on a loose ball five feet from the front of the net and put the ball in the back of the cage. The Griffins turned up the heat in the final minutes and had two shots after a penalty corner in the final minute of the contest.
Kayla Chapman's shot was turned away by a defensive save and Davis shot was blocked in the final 30 seconds of the match.
Jane Eberhardt recorded 9 saves in net and did not give up a goal in the final 43 minutes of the match.
The Griffins will close out the season when they travel to Shippensburg on Saturday.
