After Seton Hill played visiting Millersville even through the first quarter, the 5th-ranked Marauders scored once in the second and third quarters and twice in the fourth to pull away for a 4-0 victory in the final game of the season for the Griffins.
The day began with Seton Hill honoring their three seniors playing in their final game. Before the game started,
Michaela Swift-Mellor,
Chloe Deamer and
Emma Jorgensen were recognized and once the game got underway, the Griffin defense stood tall in the first quarter. Facing a Millersville team that is second in the PSAC in goals scored, the Griffins held the Marauders scoreless in the opening quarter. Millersville managed five shots, but Jorgensen made three saves to keep the match 0-0 going to the second period.
The Marauders broke through for the game's first goal 2:25 into the second quarter off a deflection for a 1-0 lead, which is where the lead stood at halftime. Millersville struck again for another goal just under five minutes into the third quarter to expand their lead to 2-0 and added two more tallies in the last period for the 4-0 final score.
Making her last appearance in the cage for the Griffins, Jorgensen stopped a season-high 10 shots. Seton Hill managed three shots in the match-up, including attempts by
Haley Brenny and
Gabriella Oxley on goal, while
Jade Taylor also had a shot.
