Box Score Seton Hill hosted Mercyhurst on Wednesday afternoon looking for their first victory of the season. The game started off well as the Griffins scored the first goal of the contest but Mercyhurst scored 6 of the next 8 goals for a 6-3 win. SHU falls to 0-11 on the season and 0-9 in PSAC play.
The Griffins got on the scoreboard first, just over five minutes into the contest when
Alesha Herman defelected in a cross from
Brittany Davis to give SHU a 1-0 lead. SHU held that lead for the next 25 minutes before the Lakers tied the game at one with a goal in the 30th minute. The turning point in the contest could have been the end of the first half when the Lakers got a corner just before the end of the first half and capitalized with a goal with 0's on the clock to take a 2-1 lead at the half.
Mercyhurst continued that momentum into the second half with a goal 1:26 into the second half. SHU cut the lead to 3-2 just over two minutes later when Davis finished a cross from Herman with 32:12 to play in the half. The Lakers responded with 3 goals in just over two minutes to take a 6-2 lead with 25:26 left in the half.
Dominique Cappello finished off the scoring with a goal from
Kayla Chapman in the 56th minute.
Seton Hill will travel to East Stroudsburg on Saturday.
