Box Score

A 3-2 score has not been very lucky for the Griffins field hockey team as they lost their second straight 3-2 decison to open the season.  On Sunday afternoon the Griffins dropped a 3-2 decision to visiting American International.  The Griffins now drop to 0-2 on the season.

American International got on the scoreboard first, 15 minutes into the contest.  AIC added on with two more goals to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.  With 15 minutes to go in the contest, the Griffins began to make it a ballgame.  Ashley Reid scored from Jaydyn Morrison to cut the lead to 3-1.  Less than four minutes later Melayna Currie scored off a feed from Nicole DeLuca to trim the lead to 3-2 with just under 12 minutes remaining in the contest.  AIC was able to hold on and keep the Griffins off the scoreboard the rest of the contest.

The Griffins will begin PSAC play on Tuesday evening when they travel to Indiana (PA) for a 7 PM contest.
