The Griffin field hockey team ended its eastern PA road trip with a match at #3 West Chester on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Rams jumped out to a 7-0 lead and cruised to a 10-3 victory. SHU falls to 3-6 overall and 0-2 in PSAC play.
West Chester jumped on the Griffins early and often in the first half as they raced out to a 5-0 halftime lead. WCU scored the first two goals of the second half to push their lead to 7-0.
Alisha Bell scored the first Griffin goal at the 55:56 mark. WCU then scored 2 straight to push the lead back to 9-1.
Melayna Currie and
Brittany Davis then scored less than 1 minute apart to trim the lead to 9-3.
McDonough Scanlon and
Taylor Dohar assisted on the goals.
Autumn Reid made 15 saves in net.
SHU will battle Lindenwood next Saturday at Slippery Rock.
