Seton Hill returned to WVIAC on Tuesday afternoon when they hosted Glenville State in a doubleheader. The Griffins scored 5 runs in the sixth inning for an 8-3 game one win. SHU completed the sweep with a 22-2 win. The Griffins improve to 27-8 overall and 18-3 in WVIAC games.
The Griffins took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first of game one.
Pat McCarthy had a one out double.
Nick Sell followed with a single to put runners on first and third. An error scored the first run and
Jackson Boyd made it 2-0 with a sac fly. Glenville State got one run back in the top of the second thanks to a Griffin error.
The Griffins increased the lead to 3-1on a solo homer from
Nick Sell in the fifth. Glenville State got that run back in the top of the sixth.
Brad Comport scored on a
Brandon Jossey sacrifice fly in the sixth to increase the lead to 4-2. The Griffins kept adding on and Boyd drove in two with a double and
Matt Malacane followed with a two RBI single to increase the lead to 8-2. Glenville scored one in the seventh on four walks. Mike Nowicki earned the final two outs for the save.
Kevin Urtz earned his third win of the season.
Glenville State scored a run on three hits in the top of the first of game two. The Griffins answered with 6 in their half of the first.
Ryan Hayden had a key two run double in the inning. SHU added 7 more in the second.
Brendan Costantino's bases clearing triple was the key hit. SHU put 5 more on the board in the bottom of the fourth. SHU got one in the fifth to make it 19-1.
Brendan Costantino led the Griffins with 4 hits.

Nick Sell each had 3.
Bob Carbaugh earned the win.
SHU will host West Liberty this weekend.
