The Griffin baseball team took the long trip south to Bluefield, WV to battle Bluefield State in a WVIAC doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon. The Seton Hill bats exploded as they completed a sweep of Bluefield. SHU took game one by a 21-1 score and took game two 20-0. SHU improves to 23-6 overall and 16-3 in WVIAC play.
Nick Sell had a great game at the plate, as he clubbed three home runs. Sell racked up seven RBIs on four hits for the Griffins. He singled in the second inning and homered in the first, third, and sixth innings.
The Griffins scored seventeen runs in the first three innings. A solo home run by Sell and a two-run home run by
Jackson Boyd in the first inning gave SHU a 3-0 lead. An RBI single by
Brendan Costantino, a two-run single by Sell, an RBI single by
Mike Cima, and a sacrifice fly by Boyd during the second inning helped the Griffins take an 8-1 lead. SHU added 9 more runs in the third inning to extend the lead.
The Griffins hit six home runs in the win.
Jeff Simon homered in the third inning and Cima homered in the fourth inning.
Brent Daviault recorded the win for the Griffins. He tossed one inning of shutout ball. Five Griffins had 2 hits in the win.
Seton Hill took a 1-0 lead in game two when
Brad Comport knocked in a run on a fielders choice. In the SHU fifth,
Nick Sell had an RBI single and
Josh Forbes sacrifice fly gave the Griffins a 3-0 lead. Two Bluefield errors gave the Griffins a 6-0 lead. SHU added 3 more in the sixth and 11 more in the seventh to secure the win.

Seton Hill will travel to Slippery Rock on Saturday for a three game set before hosting the Rock in a single 9 inning contest on Sunday.
