Griffins Split Doubleheader with Fairmont State

Seton Hill hosted Fairmont State on a beautiful and sunny Friday afternoon in a WVIAC doubleheader.  The Griffins took game one by a 6-2 score.  Fairmont State rallied for a 6-1 victory in game two.  SHU is now 35-13 overall and 25-8 in WVIAC play.      
 
Fairmont State took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on three hits.  The Griffins tied the score at one in the first when Brendan Costantino stole third and scored on an error.  SHU added 4 runs in the top of the third.  Mike Cima and Cody Herald had back to back RBI doubles.  Brad Comport then knocked in two runs to increase the lead to 5-1 with a single.  Cima then drove in another run in the fourth to push the lead to 6-1.  Fairmont State cut the lead to 6-2 with a run in the sixth.
 
Mike Cima was 3-3 for the Griffins.  Jordan Fuller went 5 innings to earn the win.  He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits and struck out three.      
 
Fairmont State again took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game two.  Nick Sell tied the score at one with a solo homer in the bottom of the first.    FSU added two more in the second to take a 3-1 lead.  A two out solo homer in the top of the third extended the Falcons lead to 4-1.  FSU added another run in the fourth to extend the lead to 5-1.  Fairmont made it 6-1 with a run in the sixth. 
 
Nick Sell led the Griffins with two hits.
 
Seton Hill will host Fairmont State in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
