The Griffins earned a series victory following a 10-6 win over Shepherd on Sunday afternoon. Seton Hill improves to 33-11 overall and 22-6 in WVIAC play.
Shepherd took an early 2-0 lead on the Griffins with two runs in the bottom of the first off of starter
Jordan Fuller. Seton Hill took a 3-2 lead in the second.
Brad Comport singled in two runs and
Matt Malacane hit into a fielders choice that gave the Griffins a 3-2 lead.
Cody Herald drove in two runs in the third to increase the Griffins lead to 5-2. The game remained 5-2 until the sixth when Shepherd tied the score at five with 3 runs.
Seton HIll answered right back with two runs in the seventh.
Brendan Costantino hit his first of two homers to give SHU a 6-5 lead. The Griffins added an unearned run and led 7-5 after 6 1/2 innings. The Rams got one back in their half of the seventh to cut the lead to one at 7-6. SHU added 3 more insurance runs in the ninth. Costantino hit his second solo homer of the game.
Mike Cima added a sac fly and Herald doubled in a run to increase the lead to 10-6.
Brad Schnelle earned the victory in relief of starter
Jordan Fuller. He went 3 1/3 innings, giving up a run on three hits.
Cody Herald and
Josh Forbes each had 3 hits.
Brendan Costantino and
Nick Sell each added 2.
Seton Hill will host Davis & Elkins on Tuesday afternoon.
