The Griffins made the short trip to Johnstown, PA to close out their three game set with the Mountain Cats. After splitting the two games on Friday both teams looked to earn the series victory. Seton Hill broke out the bats and pounded out 21 hits in route to a 14-3 victory. SHU improves to 21-6 overall and 14-3 in WVIAC play.
Seton Hill got off to a quick start as
Brendan Costantino drilled the third pitch of the game over the wall in left field to give the Griffins a 1-0 lead.
Brandon Jossey made it 2-0 with an RBI single that scored
Nick Sell. The Griffins added two more after a Zach Heide two RBI single.
Brad Comport singled in another run as the Griffins battled around in the first. UPJ got two back in their half of the first to cut the lead to 5-2. Comport drove in two more runs in the third to increase the lead to 7-2.
Comport picked up his fourth RBI of the game with a single in the fifth to give SHU an 8-2 lead. A three run bomb by
Pat McCarthy jumped the lead to 11-2 in the fifth. Comport got his fifth RBI of the game with a single in the sixth. The Griffins added two more runs in the sixth to make it 14-2.
Brad Comport led the offense with 4 hits.
Brett Sullivan earned the win, going 6 innings.
Seton Hill will travel to Bluefield State on Tuesday afternoon.
