Griffins Swept at Florida Tech

The Griffin baseball team was swept in a doubleheader at Florida Tech on Saturday afternoon.  Florida Tech won the first game 6-5 in 11 innings and completed the sweep with a 9-2 victory in game two.  Seton Hill falls to 2-3 on the season.

Seton Hill jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in game one.  Brendan Costantino led off the game with a single, moved to second on a sac bunt and stole third base.  He scored on an RBI single from Mike Cima.  SHU increased the lead to 2-0 in the fourth.  Cima led off with a single and moved to third on a double from Jackson Boyd.  Cima scored on a RBI groundout from Pat McCarthy.  Florida Tech took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth.  Boyd tripled in Nick Sell and Dan Abbennante to give SHU a 4-3 lead in the top of the eighth.  Florida Tech retook the lead with two runs in the bottom of the eighth.  Chris Miller tied the score in the ninth with a sacrifice fly that scored Brandon Jossey.  Florida Tech won the game with a run in the bottom of the eleventh.

Costantino, Cima, Nick Sell and Boyd each had two hits.  

Florida Tech took a 4-0 lead after three innings in game two.  The Griffins scored two runs in the top of the fourth.  Brandon Jossey had an RBI single and Brad Comport picked up an RBI groundout.  Tech added 4 in the fifth and 1 in the sixth to close out the scoring.  Nick Sell was the lone Griffin to have two hits.

The teams will close out the three game set with a single game with Tech on Sunday afternoon.
