The Griffin baseball team won its fourth in a row with a doubleheader sweep of Concord on Sunday afternoon. Seton Hill scored 11 runs in the first three innings of game one for a 11-2 victory and got out of a bases loaded 1 out jam in the seventh of game two for a 3-2 victory. Head coach
Marc Marizzaldi earned his 300th career victory in the doubleheader sweep. Its also the 300th win in program history. SHU improves to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in WVIAC play.
Brendan Costantino led off the game with a double, stole third and scored on an error to give SHU a 1-0 lead.
Pat McCarthy drew a walk and scored on a single by
Nick Sell.
Cody Herald then drove in Sell to give SHU a 3-0 lead. The Griffins put a 6 spot on the board in the second. McCarthy singled in two runs and Sell drove in two more to push the lead to 7-0.
Jackson Boyd tripled in a run and
Brad Comport had an RBI double to give the Griffins a 9-0 lead. Costantino and Sell each hit solo homers in the third for the Griffins final two runs of the game. Concord scored their two runs in the seventh.
Alex Haines earned the victory, going 4 shutout innings and striking out 5.

The Griffins took a 2-0 lead in the second inning of game two.
Nick Sell and
Cody Herald each singled and scored on an RBI single from
Jackson Boyd. Concord tied the score with two runs in their half of the second. The score remained tied at two until the sixth when Boyd hit a solo homer to give SHU a 3-2 lead. Concord threatened in the seventh, loading the bases with 1 out but a groundout and an 11 pitch strikeout ended the threat.
Brett Sullivan earned his second win of the season, going the distance. He gave up 5 hits and struck out 3 with only 1 walk.
Jackson Boyd and
Chris Miller each had two hits.
Seton Hill will host WV State on Tuesday afternoon.
