After playing yesterday in weather not fit for baseball, the Griffins battled LeMoyne in a doubleheader in weather a little better. In a bright sunshine, LeMoyne used a complete game from Ryan Davis for an 11-2 game one win. SHU used the arm of
Brett Sullivan as he went the distance for a 3-1 victory. Seton Hill improves to 2-1.
LeMoyne jumped on Griffin starter
Brad Schnelle for 7 runs in the second on 5 hits. They also used 2 Griffin errors. The Dolphins added two more runs in the fifth to increase the lead to 9-0. SHU got on the board in the sixth when
Dan Abbenante led off with a double and scored on a
Brendan Costantino homerun. LeMoyne added 2 runs in the top of the seventh to push the lead back to 9 runs. The Griffins were limited to five hits.
Neither offense was able to get anything going in game two as both teams were limited to just one hit in the first three innings of the contest. The Griffin offense woke up in the fourth.
Mike Cima led off with a single and
Jackson Boyd followed with a two run homer to give the Griffins a 2-0 lead.
Pat McCarthy then singled and scored after stealing third on a LeMoyne error. The Dolphins answered after a leadoff triple in the fifth to cut the lead to 3-1.
Brett Sullivan went the distance and earned the win. He struck out 3, gave up 2 hits and 1run.
Cody Herald added two hits. SHU will travel to Melborne, Florida to battle Florida Tech this weekend.
