Griffins Pick Up Victory at Home 72-67

The Seton Hill men's basketball team was victorious on Saturday afternoon as the defeated Pitt Johnstown 72-67 at home.
 
The first half was a game of lead changes as each team answered back every time their opponent scored. After 10 minutes of play the lead had changed seven times and the game was tied 17-17. Five minutes later at the 4:47 mark the game was tied once again 23-23. The Griffins managed to extend their lead to the 4 points, the largest of the half, in the final minutes entering halftime with a 34-30 advantage over the Mountain Cats.
 
Seton Hill started the second half out strong outscoring the Mountain Cats 9-5 extending their lead to 8 points 43-35 at the 15:41 mark.  The Griffins managed to sustain that 8-point advantage until the 10:23 mark when UPJ entered a scoring spree putting eight tallies on the scoreboard and tying the game 51-51 with 8:47 remaining. Both teams continued to battle for every possession and with 2:59 left in the contest the game was tied once more 62-62.  Seton Hill played with composure and finished off the Mountain Cats 72-67.
 
David Windsor who scored 14 points led the Griffins offense. Malachi Leonard added 13 points and Max Kenyi chipped in 10 points. With the win Seton Hill improves to 8-7 overall and 5-6 in WVIAC. The Griffins are on the road for their next contest as they travel to Charleston to take on the Golden Eagles in a WVIAC contest at 7:30 PM.
