Box Score On Saturday afternoon the Seton Hill field hockey team matched up against the Pioneers of LIU Post. The Griffins were able to hold on to the lead and earn a 3-2 victory over the Pioneers.
The Griffins were ready to play in the first half. Seton Hill jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead scoring both goals within the first four minutes of action. The Griffins struck first with a goal from
Lauren Mariano assisted by
Michelle Hogan and then a goal right after from
Joanna Pichardo to give the Griffins the advantage. However the Pioneers managed to put one past the keeper in the remaining minutes of the first half to close the gap and to enter halftime trailing Seton Hill 2-1.
During second half action both teams continued to battle for possession of the ball. At the 43:25 mark Hogan passed the ball to
Melayna Currie who scored to increase the Griffin lead 3-1. The Pioneers were not done fighting yet as they scored ten minutes later to make it a 3-2 contest. The Griffins played lock down defense for the remaining time securing the 3-2 victory.

Autumn Reid recorded six saves for the Griffins. With the win Seton Hill now improves to 5-6 overall and 1-3 in PSAC conference play. The Griffins face Shippensburg next at home on October 3
