Box Score On Tuesday afternoon the women's field hockey team faced Indiana University (PA) on the road. The Griffins could not find a way to score in the second half to make up for the deficit in the first and suffered a 4-0 loss.
In the first half the Crimson Hawks scored first twelve minutes into action. Five minutes later IUP struck again taking a 2-0 lead over Seton Hill at the 17:24 mark. The Griffins were able to get on the board at the 25:29 mark with a corner kick goal from
Lauren Schumacher to close the gap on the Crimson Hawks 2-1. The Griffins comeback was cut short as IUP answered back four minutes later to make it a 3-1 contest. The Crimson Hawks were able to put one last goal in during the final seconds of play to enter halftime leading the Griffins 4-1.
During second half action Seton Hill battled to make up the first half deficit but the Griffin offense were unsuccessful leading to a 4-1 Seton Hill Defeat.
Rebecca Portillo recorded 1 save and
Autumn Reid earned 8 saves in net for the Griffins. With the loss Seton Hill drops to 4-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play. Seton Hill will match up against East Stroudsburg next at home on September 28, at 2:00PM.
