Box Score Wednesday afternoon the women's field hockey team faced the Mountaineers of Mansfield University in the Griffins home opener. The Griffins maintained possession throughout the contest cruising to a 4-0 victory.
 
The Griffins started out strong with a Michelle Hogan goal five minutes into first half action to take a 1-0 lead. Nine minutes later Hogan struck again to extend the Griffin advantage to 2-0. Seton Hill continued to challenge the Mountaineers defense and at the 24:35 mark Natasha Nichols put one past the keeper to extend the Griffins lead to 3-0 heading into halftime.
 
In the second half Seton Hill continued their dominance. The Griffins added another tally to the scoreboard at the 52:02 mark off of a Lauren Mariano goal. Mansfield was unable to answer back giving Seton Hill the 4-0 victory.
 
In goal Autumn Reid and Rebecca Portillo split time earning the shutout. With the win the Seton Hill improves to 4-3 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The Griffins return to action on Saturday, September 22 when they face Slippery Rock at home at 4:00PM.
