Box Score After starting the season off with two non conference wins, the Griffin field hockey team has dropped its first two PSAC games. Seton Hill dropped their second PSAC game in a row on Tuesday afternoon as they fell by the score of 4-1 at Mercyhurst. SHU falls to 2-2 overall and 0-2 in PSAC play.
Mercyhurst opened up the scoring just 2:24 into the contest when they scored off a rebound into an open net. The Lakers extended their lead to 2-0 10 minutes later. Seton Hill got their lone goal of the contest at the 21:08 mark of the first half when
Natasha Nichols beat the Laker keeper with a shot from five yards out. Mercyhurst carried the 2-1 lead into the halftime break.
Mercyhurst extended its lead to 3-1 with a goal 46 seconds into the second half. The Lakers scored the final goal of the contest with just over 20 minutes left in the game.
Rebecca Portillo started the game in net for the Griffins, giving up all 4 goals and making 4 saves.
Seton Hill will look for its first PSAC win when they travel to Kutztown on Friday afternoon.
