The Griffins men's basketball team won their second straight conference game on Saturday night dominating The Fighting Scotts of Ohio Valley 86-39. With the victory, Seton Hill improves to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in WVIAC conference play.
Early in first half action the Fighting Scotts managed to keep up with the Griffins scoring pace. After five minutes of play the Griffins were only up six 13-7. However, Seton Hill then entered a 10-0 scoring run and took a commanding 23-7 advantage over Ohio Valley. From that point on the Fighting Scotts could not keep up with the Griffins offense and entered halftime trailing Seton Hill 51-22.
The second half was much of the same. Ohio Valley could not find a way to stop Seton Hill on defense as the Griffins continued to score. Seton Hill substituted quite a bit and every player on the team saw a lot of action. The Griffins used good defense, even scoring distribution, and fresh legs to wear down the Fighting Scotts defeating them with a final score of 86-39. For the game, Seton Hill held huge advantages in points off of turnovers (58-20), points in the paint (25-2), second chance baskets (15-4) and bench points (38-10).
Malachi Leonard led the Griffins offense with 18 points.
Tuff Barnes came off the bench and went 7-7 earning 14 points.
Nate Perry added 12 points and
Max Kenyi chipped in 10 points. Next the Griffins take on Alderson Broaddus on the road in a WVIAC conference contest at 8:00PM.
