Griffins Fall 63-55 to #19 Indiana (PA)

Seton Hill closed out play in the Indiana Regional Medical Center Classic on Sunday afternoon as they battled the home standing Crimson Hawks in the KCAC.  Seton Hill kept the game close but fell by eight points to #19 Indiana (PA), 63-55.  The Griffins drop to 1-2 on the season. 
 
Both teams started off the game slow from the field with the Griffins starting 3 of 14 while IUP started 4 of 16 in the game's first 8 minutes.  IUP held an 8-7 lead at the first media timeout.  Kameron Taylor gave the Griffins a 13-10 lead with a three pointer at the 10:20 mark of the first half.  IUP was able to battle back and take a 20-16 lead with 5:10 left in the half.  Back to back buckets from Ozren Bjelogrlic and Oliver McGlade tied the score at 20 just a minute later.  The Crimson Hawks were able to push their lead to four before the Griffins entered the halftime break down by a 30-27 score. 
 
In the early part of the second half neither team was able to extend their lead and IUP led 38-34 at the first media timeout.  IUP was able to extend the lead to 41-34.  The Griffins were able to battle back and cut the lead to 42-40 on a Malachi Leonard bucket with just over 12 minutes to play in the second half.  Max Kenyi tied the game at 48 with a bucket with 8:19 left.  IUP was then able to extend their lead to five at 55-50 before the final media timeout of the second half.  Bjelogrlic made a layin to cut the lead back to 55-52 before the Crimson Hawks extended their lead back to five on their next possession.  David Windsor then hit a three pointer to cut the lead to two at 57-55.  IUP answered right back with a three pointer to push the lead back to five with under 2 minutes remaining.  After the Griffins missed a three pointer, IUP buried another three to push the lead to 63-55 with 45 seconds to play.  SHU missed two free throws on their next possession but forced an IUP turnover with 25 seconds left.  The Griffins missed their next jumper and IUP ran out the clock for the 63-55 victory.
 
Oliver McGlade and Kameron Taylor led the Griffins with 11 points a piece.  Malachi Leonard added 10 points.  David Windsor finished with 9 points.
 
Seton Hill will get back into WVIAC play on Thursday evening when they travel to Davis & Elkins.
