Box Score On Wednesday afternoon the Griffins hosted # 3 ranked Indiana University of Pennsylvania in a PSAC West conference contest. Seton Hill was able to upset the Crimson Hawks defeating them by a score of 4-3.
The Griffins got off to a great start scoring just six minutes into play.
Janelle Hofer scored off a pass from
Lauren Mariano to take the 1-0 lead. The Crimson Hawks answered back at the 12:56 mark scoring a goal to tie the game 1-1. Seton Hill then retaliated with a goal from Mariano assisted by
McDonough Scanlon five minutes later to snatch the lead right back. Hofer managed to put another shot passed the keeper off a Mariano pass at the 28:20 mark sending the Griffins into halftime leading 3-1.
In second half action IUP scored 4 minutes after the whistle closing the gap on the Seton Hill 3-2. The Griffins shifted the momentum away from the Crimson Hawks at the 48:20 mark. Hofer scored her third goal of the game off a pass from
Michelle Hogan to extend the Griffins lead 4-2. IUP was able to put one in net during the remaining minutes making the final score 4-3 securing the Seton Hill victory.
Autumn Reid had a solid performance in net for Seton Hill recording 14 saves. With the win the Griffins record improves to 7-9 overall and 3-6 in PSAC conference play. Seton Hill travels to Shippensburg for their next contest on October 20
th, at 1:00PM.
