Seton Hill began its four game PSAC West set with a home doubleheader with Pitt Johnstown on Friday afternoon.
Seton Hill rallied for a 4-3, 12 inning win in game one of the doubleheader. The Griffins then completed the sweep with a 3-2 win in game two.  SHU is now 22-6 overall and 8-2 in the west.Â
Both teams were held off the scoreboard in the first five innings of game one. Pitt Johnstown got on the scoreboard first in the sixth inning with a two run homer that gave them a 2-0 lead.Â
SHU tied the game in the seventh.Â
Max Mandler and
Colin Ahr each singled to put two runners on. Pinch hitter
Austyn Winkleblech singled to score Mandler and cut the lead to 2-1. With two outs,
Joe Fiedor singled and moved to second on a wild pitch. He tied the game by scoring on a base hit from
Jack Whalen. Â
The game remained 2-2 until the 12th inning. Pitt Johnstown scored once in the top of the inning to take a 3-2 lead. In the bottom half of the inning, Whalen drew a one out walk and later scored on an
Owen Henne RBI single. Henne stole second and scored on a walk off single from
Brady McGuire. Â
Whalen had three hits and McGuire added a pair.Â
Christian Zilli threw four innings of scoreless relief. Â
SHU took a 1-0 lead in the second inning of game two on a leadoff homer from
Max Mandler. The Griffins added two more in the third. McGuire reached on an infield single and
Jakob Haynes was hit by a pitch.Â
Owen Mandler singled to score McGuire and put runners on first and third. Mandler and Haynes then executed a double steal to put SHU in front 3-0. Â
Pitt Johnstown scored a pair of runs in the fourth.Â
Luke Deschenes earned the win by going four innings and allowing two runs.Â
Zach Herb earned the save with three scoreless innings.
SHU and UPJ are scheduled to wrap up the series in Johnstown on Saturday afternoon.Â
