Played baseball, football and ran track at local Canon-McMillon in Canonsburg, Pa where he was a First Team All-Conference starting pitcher and wide receiver … Hit .291 as a senior, had six RBI, four doubles one triple and scored 23 runs … Went 5-2 over 13 appearances during his senior year, maintained a 2.60 ERA and threw three complete games … Set a WPIAL Championships record in the 100-meter dash, running a 10.62 in the preliminary round.
